Myopia Control

increasing nearsightedness (myopia) and has the
potential to actually control the associated loss of
vision for the first time.
Located in Chicago’s western suburbs, where Downers Grove, Darien, and Westmont
converge, the orthoK Center of Excellence at the Eyecare Center Of DuPage, Ltd. is a
unique environment for patients of all ages to achieve successful orthoK treatment.
Clinical Director, Dr. Anthony J. Prasnikar, is an accomplished orthokeratologist with
years of experience and hundreds of succesful cases.
Who is a candidate?
Anyone with healthy eyes in need of vision correction should consider
orthoK as an option. Addiitionally, parents concerned about developing
nearsightedness, (myopia,) in their children should definitely consider
orthokeratology,
How does orthoK work?
Special retainer contact lenses are designed using eye print imaging of the
cornea, something like a fingerprint for the eye. Worn only during sleep, the
vision retainers gently and safely reshape the cornea into a corrected shape.
This eliminates the need for glasses or contacts during waking hours.
